CORE VALUES (DISTINCTIVES)

While there are many other angles we value and celebrate into life, each of the following could be described as providing specific shape into our communal substance.

Each of these will further intersect with the DNA of a RELOVUTIONARY, as we interact that Philosophy for Christian Living in the Post-Christian West, with this fleshed-out Life-Movement, under God:

<+> Gospel-Centredness: Living Our Identity More Comprehensively, and through Community, with Genuine Depth and Increasing Width

<+> All of Life as Missional: Every Moment of Life has Meaning and Purpose, Under the Lordship of Christ, and the God who Sends

<+> Life as Process: Daily Intentionality as the Way of Flourishing, with Personal Imitation, over the Unfolding Long-Term

<+> City Vision: Compassionately Seeking Cultural and Social Renewal, for the Whole Community, No Matter the Label

<+> A Church that Plants Churches: The Great Commission as More Than a Slogan, and to the Ends of the Earth

SUMMATION OF OUR FAITH

<+> Scriptures: God has authored His Word in the sixty-six books of the Older and Newer Testaments. These are complete, reliable, trustworthy, true, and remain the final authority and rule, in all matters of life and practice. The Word of God is how we know what we know, and the basis for why we do what we do.

<+> God: There is one eternal and everything-perfect Creator God, eternally existing in Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – beyond our innate capacity to adequately grasp; except for His willingness to create, reveal, and sustain, which He does by grace, into time and space.

<+> Jesus: The eternal second-Person of the Trinity, fully entered human history. He lived and died in the flesh for our sins, and bodily rose again on the third day. He forever lives to make intercession for His people, and will return one day to finish God’s plan for humanity, when heaven will really meet earth.

<+> Salvation: Because of the brokenness of humanity, none can save, except one – Jesus. Salvation = Believing the Gospel = the Son’s substitutionary sacrifice on behalf of sinners. This is a gift from God: by grace, through faith, in the power of the Holy Spirit. None would choose God because of the consequences of self in sin, but where brokenness abounds, God’s love and grace, overcomes.

<+> Church: This is the Body of Christ, which includes all believers in Jesus, from Acts 2 onward. When we believe the Gospel; when we are saved from our sin; when we are saved from the righteous wrath of God, the Holy Spirit places us inside this Bride of Christ, forever sealing our deal that we belong, and our future is secure. This is family; community; and the people we do Life with in this Movement under God.

<+> Future: This is more than the life we dream about with friends. In the unfolding plan of God, He will deal with His enemies; give people exactly what they want; where the entire work of the Gospel will reach its zenith with a life on earth that will do much more than just silence our present longings, but go above and beyond our best-ever thought.

OUR PLACE IN GOD’S STORY

We are historically orthodox and subscribe to the ancient Creeds of the faith – Apostles‘, Athanasian, and Nicene.

We recognise the importance of those who have gone before us in the Faith, and the impact of Creeds throughout church history, as a means of demarcating orthodox Christian belief from error, especially in specific areas.
